How is everyone doing? I remember writing a post back in January saying, ‘the sun will shine again’ while reflecting on a Winter lockdown. Well, as promised, the Spring is here – with some sun (cough cough) – and a dash of snow – (well it is a typical Spring in Scotland). The temperature gauge can’t quite make up its mind and hedges its bets between 8 and 16 degrees – but there is definitely a brighter feeling all around. Perhaps it’s because April delivered an abundance of chocolate (of the egg variety), a bank holiday, and an easing of some of the lockdown conditions. Springtime always heralds a feeling of ‘we made it through the dreich days’, but this year that feeling of having ‘survived’ is more apt than most.
Throughout April I was working on a few commissions and illustrations of Spring Flowers – inspired by a need to get out in the fresh air to clear the head and walk off the aforementioned chocolate eggs. On our walks I have noticed people appear more positive again and this seems to be reflected in the Spring blossoms that have burst forth. The world is beginning to ‘open’ tentatively again and there is a feeling of optimism in the air
I also have some fantastic news to share. The Honey Pot Creative Café is now stocking Bumbumbee Creative Greetings Cards and Notebooks. We are absolutely ‘buzzing’ with excitement and gratitude here.
If you are in the local area look out for Honey Pot Creative Café. It is situated directly below the iconic Forth Rail Bridge and it has stunning panoramic views of the Firth of Forth. They run all sorts of amazing creative classes for all ages, and they even have a ceramic studio as well as a cafe and gift shop. This is my idea of a day well spent. The great news is, Honey Pot Café is re-opening to the public on Monday 26 April, 2021 (yes that’s today). They will be taking table bookings online or why not give them a call. The usual COVID protocols are in place so make sure you book ahead to avoid disappointment.Call Honey Pot Creative on: 0131 319 2323 or Book a Table for a pot of Tea or Creative Play Book a table
Well, that’s about it from me but I would love to hear how April’s been treating you. Are you all dying to get to the hairdressers or just to get out and start doing the things we used to take for granted? My little wildlings can’t wait to spend time with their cousins and just get out there and cause general mayhem. Phew – well it’s been a long winter – but we made it. We’re through to the other side. We’re ready to make up for lost time and blossom again. Enjoy Spring everybody.
